Deltarune Save Editor
Edit a DELTARUNE save from any chapter: money and LV, party stats, items, spells, equipment and story flags. Parsing and export both happen in your browser, so the file is never uploaded anywhere.
Opens the full editor — drop your save file there. No account, nothing to install.
Where the save file lives
Each chapter has three slots: chapter 1 uses filech1_0, filech1_1 and filech1_2, chapter 2 uses filech2_0 and so on. The paths below show slot 1 of chapter 1.
- Windows
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\DELTARUNE\filech1_0
Paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\DELTARUNE into the Explorer address bar to jump straight there — AppData is hidden by default.
- macOS
~/Library/Application Support/com.tobyfox.deltarune/filech1_0
- Linux / Steam Deck
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1671210/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/DELTARUNE/filech1_0
That is the full release. If you are on the free Chapter 1&2 demo, swap 1671210 for 1690940 — the two keep separate Proton prefixes.
Copy the original somewhere safe before you touch it. We keep no copy of your save, so if you break it there is nothing here to restore it from.
What the save file actually looks like
DELTARUNE is a GameMaker game, and its save is whatever file_text_write dumped out: one value per line, no field names anywhere, everything located purely by line number. A Chapter 1 save is 10,318 lines, and 9,999 of them are story flags that are almost all zero.
The first dozen or so lines are global state: line 1 is your player name, line 2 the vessel name, lines 8 to 10 are the three party slots, line 11 is money, line 13 is LV, and line 16 records whether you are in the Dark World or the Light World.
From line 17 there are four character blocks of exactly 54 lines each: six stat lines (HP, Max HP, attack, defense, magic, GUTS), three equipment lines (a weapon and two armors), one weapon style, then four sets of eight weapon values, and finally twelve spell slots.
Because nothing is named, one extra or missing line shifts every field after it out of place. So this editor only overwrites the lines it understands and writes everything else back untouched — even a field we never parsed survives the round trip.

+The game won't load my save after I edited it
First make sure you overwrote the same slot you loaded. Chapter 1 slot 1 is always filech1_0; slots 2 and 3 are filech1_1 and filech1_2. Also worth knowing: GameMaker writes a trailing space after most values, and this editor preserves them. If you had already opened the file in Notepad or another text editor and saved it, the line count or the line endings may have been broken before you got here — restore your backup and start again from the original.
+Why is the first character sitting at 0 HP?
The save always has four character slots, but the game doesn't always fill all four. On a fresh file, anyone who hasn't joined your party yet has 0 HP and 0 Max HP, which is normal. Setting those to something non-zero won't make them show up early — who's actually in your party is stored separately, and the editor has a dedicated party section for that.
+Is Dark World money separate from Light World money?
Yes. Dark World money is the D$ you spend in Dark World shops, while the Light World keeps its own money, LV and HP in a separate block of the save. The editor exposes both, so make sure you are changing the one you actually see in game.
+Can I use this on a Chapter 2 or later save?
Yes. The editor understands the save format of every Deltarune chapter, and detects which chapter a file belongs to when you load it — the fields it shows (party, items, spells, story flags) adjust to that chapter automatically.
